Water rescue course
Swimming abilities, knowledge of first aid rules or operation of rescue equipment. These are just the basics that every candidate for a lifeguard must have. If you want to work in this profession you need to be in good shape and then you will also need to complete a course and you know you also have the enthusiasm to work.
The Pomeranian Volunteer Rescue Service (WOPR) will be conducting courses on intra-organizational levels for junior rescuers and rescuers. The first is for people over 12 years old and the second is for people over 16 years old. A younger rescuer is, of course, a student who is supposed to cooperate with a rescuer and learns the secrets of the profession during this period, can not work independently.
For other persons over 18 years of age, courses for lifeguards are provided in accordance with the regulation of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. This course is already the most serious and will last for 66 hours. The applicant shall be a very good swimmer and have a general understanding of rescue and the ability to operate rescue equipment.
You will need to be able to show all the skills you gain during the theoretical and practical exams. A positive result from the theory is necessary, if at all, to take a practical exam at all. Depending on the degree to which the exam will be passed, a certain distance will have to be covered very quickly and you will also have to take part in a stimulated rescue game.
However, the course to the rescue boat level is not everything, because you will also need to take part in the second first aid training and only after its completion will you be able to think about starting such a job. A course for a younger rescuer and WOPR rescuer will cost several hundred zlotys, for a water rescuer about 1000. First aid kurd is about 500-700 zlotys. Prices vary because they are very often associated with the place where the course will be held. If you want to be a full-fledged lifeguard you have to reserve from 1000 to 2000 PLN. Work for a lifeguard is sometimes permanent during the season. The majority of these rescuers are teachers and students. However, there is no upper age limit. You can work in your profession more or less as long as your health allows you to do so. If we want to be rescuers we have to start trying and this desire will be fulfilled.
