For those Poles who care about their fitness and healthy lifestyle in general, it is no longer enough to have a regular gym ticket. They want to feel "cared for". They are looking for what the profession of a personal trainer combines: professionalism, perfect knowledge about the functioning of the body, its strengths and weaknesses. They want a trainer, a dietician, but also a physiotherapist and maybe a psychologist. This need translates into what more and more universities and large fitness chains offer: new fields of study are being launched, including courses preparing for the profession of personal trainer in fitness clubs, in response to market demand.

A Pole knows what he wants.

Poles are increasingly aware of the benefits of physical activity, pay attention to healthy eating and put more emphasis on good health, attractive appearance and everything related to health and physical activity. This lifestyle change determines the dynamic development of the fitness market and professions related to fitness and health care. There are already over 2 thousand fitness clubs in Poland. About a million people regularly train in them.

The fashion for being fit makes the fitness industry one of the fastest growing in the world. Poland is at the forefront of the countries where the fastest growing number of fitness clubs - their number is estimated by Deloitte Europe at 2.4 thousand and by the International Fitness Association at 4 thousand. Each club of employment from a few to several dozen people, which means that more than 20 thousand people work in the industry.

The Polish fitness services market is one of the fastest growing in Europe. In terms of the number of club members, we are already sixth on the continent. In terms of clubs' revenues - ninth. The development of the industry has led to an increased demand for qualified personnel. This trend is noticed by universities. Currently, many of them start full-time and postgraduate studies in the field of personal trainer and these are not only schools specializing in sports or medical education - it is enough to mention the University of Management in Gdańsk or the University of Banking in Wrocław. This year, post-graduate studies in the field of personal trainer also launched the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, and new specialization studies at the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław are also very popular.

- The potential of the Polish market is not yet fully exploited. It is estimated that between 1 million and 1.5 million people will join the fitness clubs already practicing in the future - said Robert Kamiński, President of the Polish Fitness Employers' Association, at the FIWE trade fair.

Passion for sport, good physical condition, practical and theoretical knowledge about the functioning and structure of the human body are necessary abilities in the profession of a personal trainer. Appropriate qualifications and significant work experience guarantee the personal trainer a salary of about 100 zł per training, although the rates for advice start from 50 zł and increase with the reputation of the trainer. Trainers of well-known stars often become famous themselves, publish books, give advice in the media, and their earnings are even ten times higher than the market average. The prospects for the development of the personal trainer profession are therefore impressive.

Where to for the rights

Solid preparation and international qualifications give you a graduation from the Technogym Academy in Poland. The program, according to which future trainers are prepared, has been designed in such a way that the trainer has the opportunity to develop his qualifications in several stages and to choose the direction of further development. The scope of the individual thematic modules was developed in close cooperation with experts, so that it covers all the issues required for the work of a personal trainer or club manager. Completion of the first stage of the training course gives the opportunity to obtain a certificate of "Technogym Personal Trainer" and an entry to the international EREPS, conducted by the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA) Foundation. Thanks to the entry in EREPS, the trainer receives international rights to work in a chosen profession and increases his chances of finding a satisfactory job.

In countries such as the United States, where the tradition of the profession dates back several decades, there is one trainer for every 1200 inhabitants. Also in Poland, Poles will be using the advice of personal trainers and fitness clubs more and more often, as are certain fitness experts and doctors themselves. According to the Institute of Food and Nutrition, every second Pole suffers from overweight, and this problem is exacerbated by insufficient physical activity. The demand for fitness services will also generate a growing affluence of our society, which is already willing to allocate additional funds from household budgets to be healthy and beautiful.
