The most popular applications for mobile phones
Can we still imagine everyday life without smartphones? Certainly, it would be very difficult for us, especially that with their advancement, mobile applications have also become more and more popular. But are there some that we use most often? Definitely yes, and which of them we value the most tried to resolve Transition Technologies.
In fact, you only need to look at some of the most important reports to see how the mobile market is growing in strength. According to MEC Mobile Report 2015, about 80 percent of Internet users use smartphones and half of them use tablets to connect to the Internet. In turn 7 percent of people declared that they have a wearables device in their possession. Another report - Polska.Jest.Mobi 2015 - indicates that statistically 6 out of 10 Poles use smartphones, and every fifth person already has a tablet.
However, smartphones are not just for calling, texting or surfing the web. Currently, we are also more and more willing to use mobile applications, which are quickly gaining our favor. The analyses conducted by ING Bank Śląski show that about 24 percent of men and 14 percent of women use mobile applications. But which are the most popular? Internet browsers Referring to the data collected by ING Bank Śląski, it turns out that about 64 per cent of Poles use Internet browsers, most of them young people between 15 and 21 years of age. According to Adam Bancarewicz, a specialist from Transition Technologies, due to the increase in the performance of our smartphones, web browsers are more likely to be used by their users. They allow you to quickly browse the web no matter where you are and, in addition, you can take advantage of advanced Internet features and smart assistants that are part of your operating system. It's about Google Now in Androida or Siri in iOS.
Analytical company Flurry, which is a specialist in the mobile market, points to an interesting trend. It turns out that only 10 percent of our time spent on mobile devices is spent on web browsing. The remaining 90 percent is used to support mobile applications. Mobile Apps may also be used by us to communicate with other users. Undoubtedly, Facebook is the leader at the moment, but just behind it is Twitter, Skype or Instagram. Recently, Snapchat, WhatsApp and Messenger have also been a real hit, with some 200 million people using them.
Entertainment Many people associate entertainment primarily with games, which are an extremely attractive product for users. Mobile games are played by an estimated 1.5 billion people around the world and, most importantly, this number is continuing to grow. However, the mobile gaming market is not the easiest, due to considerable competition. In Poland, this sector is still developing and the number of people interested in this type of mobile entertainment is constantly growing in line with the global trend. And this, of course, encourages developers to act. Poles even loved mobile applications created for navigation or geolocation. No wonder, because using such facilitation, we will find a specific restaurant or company without any problem. The Google Maps application is also very popular, as it will lead us to a designated point. Applications that enable geolocation are also a tool that makes it possible to increase your safety in the mountains. The free "Help in the mountains" application, based on the possibility of geolocation, can significantly shorten the time needed to find the victim and provide assistance.
Poles are not particularly confident when it comes to the possibility of managing their bank accounts using mobile applications. Compared to the US, where 32 per cent of smartphone users use such tools, and the Czech Republic, where the limit is 36 per cent, Poland is still lagging behind with 12 per cent of mobile banking users. However, this situation is constantly changing, as bank customers notice the advantages of using such mobile applications. It's all about being able to access your account 24 hours a day, no matter where you are. As mobile apps are now almost being captured by smartphone users, more and more companies around the world are developing new and improved versions of these apps. Of course, the development of such tools is based on the needs of individual user groups, which makes them almost immediately popular. However, it is worth considering what can replace mobile applications in the future.
