Office uniforms are, in general, clothes with elegant and stylish character. Their distinguishing feature is not only classic cuts, but also high quality fabric and precision of workmanship. To serve us for as long as possible, it is worth taking care of them in a particularly caring way. How do I do that?

Principle one - reasonable shopping for work clothes

If at this stage we do not show off with thoughtful decisions, we can gain a wardrobe full of clothes that do not fit together, and at work is uncomfortable for us. The key to success is a good analysis of the specificity of the work, the current dress code and thinking about what we actually like to wear, in which colors we feel good (of course from an acceptable palette) and what are our individual preferences. Clothes of office character can also have many cuts - some of them will be beneficial for our silhouette, while others will only bring out its shortcomings.

It is worth to go shopping with a good shopping plan. The idea is to create a coherent wardrobe, in which individual elements fit together in different configurations, and all the clothes lie well on us and are solidly sewn. If necessary, do not be afraid of tailoring corrections - in some salons they can be ordered immediately, in others such a service is not available and then it is worth looking around for an external tailoring studio.

Principle two - the composition of the fabric should be carefully checked

Not only does the cut and type of clothing matter, but also the fabric from which the garment was made. So what if the suit fits perfectly and the shirt highlights the colour of our eyes if the shirt is made of artificial fibres and we warmed up two minutes after we put it on? It is the type of fabric used that affects the comfort of wearing clothes. As far as formal and business costumes are concerned, it is definitely worth betting on quality and reach for wool, silk, linen, viscose, lyocell fibers and cotton. It is better to avoid clothes made of polyester only (the blend with the addition of polyester will not be so bad anymore), because although they may look great, they are badly worn in office conditions.

Third principle - check the washing instructions before you buy them

When you choose a new shirt or pants for your office, make sure you can wash these things at all at home. This is not an unusual situation that business clothes need only be refreshed in the laundry. If this is the case with the item, it is worth considering whether we have the time, means and willingness to regularly visit a dry-cleaning laundry. If not, then let's look for other clothes, and if so, you can tempt yourself with clothes that cannot be washed in water, but it's better not to have bright clothes that get dirty very quickly.

Principle four - check the ironing recommendations

Ironing business clothes can also be troublesome. Sometimes you need an ironing board and sometimes you need to reach for a steamer and refresh and form your clothes vertically (this applies especially to suits and some dresses). In any case, before you connect the iron to the power supply, make sure you know at what temperature you can iron the garment of your choice and whether you can do this on either side of the fabric or only on the left side. This is very important, because incompetent ironing of formal clothes can lead to their destruction. Each iron has options to adjust the working temperature to suit a variety of fabrics. Some irons with this regulation indicate which fabrics are suitable for which temperature, while others have only dotted marks - the same markings are used on clothing labels.

Fifth rule - it is worth having a few sets of clothes to avoid using the same things too much.

The more often we wear, wash and iron individual clothes, the faster they will destroy themselves - there is no doubt about that. Besides, nobody wants to be seen in the same company outfit every day. To avoid this effect, you should complete at least 3, and preferably about 5 sets of clothes. Each set should contain elements that can be combined and replaced with elements from other sets, which makes it possible to create many more clothes configurations. Such a solution will ensure that we will always have something to wear, and in addition, our company wardrobe will not be overused.

Office and business clothes are not cheap, especially those that are distinguished by a striking cut and high quality material. Some suits, shirts or dresses severely strain the average budget, but these are investments in the long term and in your own image, and this has an impact on how you are perceived in business. Choosing clothes based on strict criteria and taking care of them in an appropriate way, we can be sure that we will present ourselves elegantly in any situation.
